Au contraire my dear Mr Oval, or may I call you Near? I looked forward to and enjoyed my ride into work, but I enjoyed the ride home even more so. I very rarely rant but I just couldn't resist this.... The roads are not safe for cyclists fact. They are in such poor state that you spend most of the time weaving around massive pot holes, bodged repairs and other things trying to kill you. I don't recall the last time a cyclist killed a pedestrian, in 2015 1775 cyclists where killed on U.K. Roads, that's 5 every day! I cycle to work and use my bike regularly, I use a mixture of roads cycle paths and pavement when needed. No one will stop me, I would pay a fine every day to know that I am coming home to my kids alive! Oh and I have never hit a pedestrian! Sorry that my safety is an inconvenience to you.

llyn brenig has a near 10 mile track around it although shared by cars, fishermen and walkers its not that busy (except special days). Has an outdoor play area for the children and a decent café, toilets looking over the lake. You can also cycle up to Llyn Alwen which has more paths around it making it a good 15/20 mile cycle.. Its not jumps just track and semi wilderness feel.

Youd think whilst biking is so popular at present that maybe more farmers with either unusable hilly land, or hilly resting land , might fancy opening up tracks for bikers to practise on - for small fee . They have the machinery on hand to create interesting levels and challenges. They could make a bit on the side too by having a Eureka cafe type place .

Very good idea Venice. Particularly if it it was for different levels of riders (blue, red & black trails) for each to practice and improve. I'm a red level rider and can do some bits of black level but not all and it would be fun and useful to certainly practice more to progress onto black level trails.
