Hi just found out there is another suitcase full of local pictures at my folks house, e.g festival of Britain party pictures at laird street, trams, all sorts of stuff plus my great great grandfather's transport business which was based in shrewsbury road (horse drawn) I have a scanner in ours but i reckon it will be a mammoth job scanning them all as I dont have proper broadband (using my mobile hooked up to my pc) dunno how i will put them up for everyone to see. I suppose I could put them onto a cd/dvd, I suppose these photos will be valuable to somebody creating a book on wirral history though not entirely clued up on how to get these photographs viewed by the masses as in people who are interested in wirral history, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I reckon the person you want is Ian Boumphrey: www.yesterdayswirral.co.uk
He's always on the lookout for such stuff & would probably scan it all for you, for possible use in a book (don't know if he pays) but at least you'd then have it all on CD/DVD. Give him a ring.

Cheers, Chris.

Well that photograph was one of the collection of a huge amount, I don't know much more to be honest, though the road Oriel road was were I think it was originally based, from what my parents have told me the business was bought by the transport corporation which must have been when the Birkenhead transport corporation was creating there network. Unfortunately I only know snippets of information; if my grandparents were alive I could have gathered more information. If you have any more questions just fire away and I will try and answer.

Old Gorsey Lane is where the building that smelt of lollipops was the Additive centre but even though the building is still there it now belongs too West Cheshire cleaning
