word is first U534 section getting shifted by Mammoth on Monday March 10 - prob most action around 10am onwards

Apparently it is scheduled for Monday but there may be bad weather.
So it could be postponed.

Its In 5 pieces?
They have been going mad with the saw, the Sub is now in 5 pieces
being lined up for when the Mersey mammoth lifts them.

You can see from these pictures as the last part is still attached to the tail section.

I was informed by a nice old man these are more than likely air canisters as Torpedo's have
a diameter of 21" not 24" omg

Also the steel at the base of the sub was 18mm at the base and 22mm at the top near the conning tower.
Something like that anyway.

Just looking at those pictures. Is this what Mersey Travel are doing to get tourism back into the Wirral ? what apile of Scrap Metal what a waste of money.. Good pictures though happy but seriously what a waste of money.. The money could of gone else where....

High pressure air was pumped into those cylinders and stored. Released when required into the ballast tanks to blow out the water when they wanted to surface. "Das Boot" tells all !!

Summit to do with a lack of funding. And the building behind it was bought by a property developer and is now luxury flats.

They originally expected the U534 to disappear too, but some reason it didnt lol. More to the pity!!
