I went past the Woodside Hotel before and it was on fire. If this building ends up getting demolished its another blow for the plant pots in the council who seem to leave all historic buildings empty and allow them to be set on fire !
Fire started at 13.40 today, seven units in attendance at the time of main blaze, then three damping down later this afternoon! DoctorFrick, good pics, I couldnt get down there but notified MARK, but he was away! Investigation suspects arsonists!!!! Now lets work this out...!Heres my rant so fingers in your ears people!!! Woodside Hotel has been on fire before, but only got the ground floor - rest was smoke damaged, right? Now this blaze was only on the first floor and the second, apparently not the ground floor, you with me now?? I assume that after the first blaze that all water, gas AND electric was cut off from the building, so how did this blaze start unless it was arson and WHY in the afternoon , broad daylight in a buisy area (bus, ferry and passing traffic, not to mention all the office workers!). Not kids, not druggies, but who would benefit from this glorious building being gone? DEVELOPERS / COUNCIL!!! The structual engineers where in there tonight, wonder how long before this building is deemed "unsafe", bet the ink isnt even dry on the report before the demo guys are called in! Have to keep my ear to the ground and see whos got the contract, do work for most of them!! Rant over, you can wake up now, but see my point(S)
