A few years on and, having been alerted that Whitbread have a planning application in to demolish the pub, a search had thrown up this thread.
The pub has also known as, from one of the photos, as Glegg's Arms.

It looks like the whole site comprising the hotel, car park, and 'pub' is regarded as a single planning unit.
The historical, C19th, elements appear to have been fairly well trashed over many years, and are vestigial.
Use class is asserted as C1, though the Heritage Statement for example includes seven historical references to use as a public house, and then:
2.26 To the interior the building has been significantly altered to accommodate modern public house and restaurant requirements and expectations.
