here is how I do it
[right click on image left click on properties and see what size it is in mbs}
1st go to http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
if they are jpg and over 1mb in size use this (WIKIWIRRAL ONLY LETS YOU PUT PHOTOS LESS THAN IMB)
TICK 600 pixel browse to where photos stored select photo
then click on resize
when resiZed click save browse to where you want to save
(your originals are still safe)
Here is Marks advice on how to post (I've only just tried this today and am awaiting conformation I've done it correctly)

click on Switch to full reply
then browse to image in upload manager then click on add
Don't forget to put text in big main white window
And add the Subject and upload the image

Make sure there is Text in the post, or the image will fail,
so by adding the name and address in the body of the post it
will be fine

Interesting little factoid for you.
Corsair was owned by the same people who used to own Stairways and the Woodside.

They had all three places at the same time, as well as a few other pubs.
That's pretty much all the info I've got.

The people you are thinking about run and had a good few pubs round here 4 of them i think,Its only been in last 2 or 3yesrs they had it 4 sure. I can tell you the names every manager and people who owned the corsair from day it opened 1970/1 to 2002/3. ONE lived on ford JOHN D.

Yeah that's the guy.
Could be they are being targeted by someone with a grudge.
Pretty sh!tty way of acting though, it affects more people than just the owners frown
Or it could be they are just really unlucky.

Was it really, thats interesting to know.
Hope this is going to be investigated.
Just think the Woodside was on its own which wouldnt make anything else o on fire same as the corsair, and they couldnt do it to Stairways coz theres cameras all around there and its ajoined to other buildings.

you and scoops are way off the mark. woodside owned by peach developments in conjunction with peel holdings. the corsair lease is owned by a company called goldtry and managed by company called county estate management but the free hold of the land actually belongs to wirral borough council. The club formerly known as stairways is now called zu is also held on a short term lease by new owners. your conspiracy theory seems to have dissolved.

That may be so but the three places are still linked by the former owners.
and bear in mind that zu only opened after Stairways was burnt out.
It wasn't really a conspiracy theory just extremely coincidental think
Thanks for the info though grin

you are confusing ownership and tenancy the people concernedonly held the premises on short term tenancies and the fires happened some considerable time after the tenacies in question ended. stairways club has never been on fire it closed because wirral borough council revoked the licence due to condition of the building and fire escape

Wirral council have served and enforcement order on the Corsair, its owners must either restore it to its original condition, or demolish it.

That's one way of getting rid of asbestos i suppose. Too expensive to demolish, and too expensive to refurb. Now it's all done for them.

I didn't know about this pub burning down.
In the 70's my Husband and I would walk through Bidston Village and along to the Corsair to watch the Country and Western group that played there each week. We didn't spend much but always had a good night out.
I'm definitely giving my age away now smile
