Does anyone remember the old Charing Cross Club it used to be the Astor Picture House?
Just wondering if anyone remembers it as my nan worked there as a head barmaid.

And there was a guy who song there called Dave King but he is now in prison, many of you may remember the news story about him.

Let me know.

I can vaguely remember going there a few times during the 60s
The door into it was at the side not the front where the entrance to the cinema used to be
We still called it the Astor or Claughton

I lived just by there in my youth 1960 to 1970 then moved on the ford 8th ave. went there every week end from 1975 until it shut down crazy times.went in side door at one time then you used main entrance. 2 or 3 bus stops next to side door cigie machine and choc machine screwed to wall. sure the whole floor had to be replaced on main entrance.
