Strange what you can find out if you ask the right people !.
The house in the main part of the picure was the home of the Swift family (left) and the right hand side of the house was occupied by the Williams family.
Today i spoke to someone who had asked about the cottages in the picture when they moved to the area in the 1950's and was told by a first world war veteran- "they where there when i went off to war and all demolished when i came home".
On the left of the picture above a van can be seen, this is of the type pulled by a traction engine, one of the traction engines that may have pulled the van is now in the ownership of the museum in Liverpool. Even though the the traction engine is a working exibit and gose out and about as far as i can tell it has never paid a visit to Neston (or the Wirral) since it has been owned by the museum, i wonder why ?.
