ghostly1: Yes, it must count as "old stuff". An old NWGB (remember Mr Therm ?) cabinet. I think these house either area meters and/or recording devices. This one looks to suffering the ravages of time!
Tatey: REVO did indeed make the castings (and release lever ?) for the No.36 Hand Grenade/Mills Bomb. A lot of founders and engineering works around the country churned them out for the Ministry. Another familiar grenade maker was QUALCAST the mower people. I've got a complete one made by VADIS. They are all quite collectable and some go for silly prices if they are in good condition.
May be of interest. At the top end of the park in ashville rd, poulton, entrance closest to poulton road (google maps dousent show the name of the little one way st from the park to poulton rd) near the power station there is a tall, 'wide' maroon coloured post-metal. Looks a bit like the grey one in hamilton square on the first page???
A few from my travels today. The first one is next to the lake in Ashton park. The other is a clutter of old and new stuff on Darmonds green, West Kirby. There is loads of old street furniture round here.
