I used to go with a jam jar and a fishing net and fish for tadpoles. I also used to pick the michaelmas daisies. I remember the houses being built off holm lane that would be 1968/69. Happy days and why did it always seem to be sunny?!!! Anyone remember the old couple who used to travel round on a horse and cart and stable the horse at the top of holm lane. The wife is still around I saw her the other day waiting for a bus at the bottom of singleton avenue!

HMBS Was that Blue Funnel (Alfred Holts) own trucks? They ferried ship parts for repair to Odyssey works from ports all over Britain. I can't remember if they delivered freight. I cadged a lift back from Hull in 1980 along with 2 maiin engine cylinder heads and 4 auxy fuel valves.
See you in cyberspace!

Does anyone have any pictures to post of the old churches on or around Price street Birkenhead? Quite a few were pulled down in early 70's.

Any of you golden oldies out there remember the Central ballroom at the top of Oxton Road in the 50's. Also Alex Green's bike shop nearby.
