I know this is coming right out of the dark but what if we postpone Thurstaston until summer (I know Thurstaston was my suggestion) so that we can maybe go on a Saturday and have a BBQ. Unless we go again in the summer. Please don't castigate me for this, I do want to go, it's just a thought.

I'm fine with that. I don't mind where we go just good to be out and about.

Heres another suggestion for the mix.

How long do you want to stay out for
I have no commitments to get home for (cooking, kids etc)
So I suggest we work out what can be done within the time we settle for
Church - shore - common - Royden
Taking liberties here but with transport go to church down to shore then common Royden

Hi derek, if we are still doing the Thurstaston Common walk, you can (apparently) complete the entire route (see map) in about 2 hours at a leisurely pace so there should be ample time to take in some more scenic views. Just need to find out when & where we meet.

The church is about 5 minutes walk from the car park so going there is easily done. You would need to go in the car to get to the beach (wirral country park). On foot it would take about 15/20 minutes to walk from the church to the beach but then later we would have to walk all the way back. I am happy to do both. I suppose those that just want to go to the common don't have to follow us down to the church and beach if they don't want to.

It seems that the concensus of opinion is that we do Thurstaston still. I'm fine with that, we can always go back in the summer for the BBQ if there is the demand.
