you'll need to:
1) Get a beaded seat cover 2) park in unreasonable places 3) give cyclists no room 4) invest in a cheap pair of tracksuit pants.

I own the road The laws of this land don't apply to me. What glue do i need to stick my fat arse to the seat which prevents me getting out to knock on peoples doors.

There's a lot to consider and you need to think about what you'll really make. Considering:
1) the rank you work for - all taxi firms will advertise for drivers all of the time, but you might not get much work, particulary in the week. Davy Liver / freephone is the busiest.
2) Wirral usually insist that your car is younger than 8 years old.
3) You'll need to get it taxi MOT'd. Walsh's was the only bay that did it.
4) Need to pay the radio/sat fee to the rank
5) It will put many miles on your car
6) Need to pay for taxi insurance
7) There are many taxi drivers all looking for work
8) The cost of fuel
9) You're more likely to get points on your license and need to pay fines.
10) You are likely to have allsorts of idiots in your car
11) Need taxi insurance.
I would really weigh all this up and think about what you're going to do if it doesn't work out.

to be honest, i wouldnt bother. ive been doing it for ten years mate and was making more money then than i am now. as reddragon has said, its a thankless job, the hours are long and you have to deal with all kinds of p*ssed up kno*heads on a daily basis. also the council make your life a misery too with their petty rules and regulations. do ANYTHING rather than drive a taxi!
