I remember Tesco Bidston Moss before they refurbished it, being a shelf stacker there. The file maintenance room and corridor was haunted by someone who "supposedly" died at the old steel works. I new people who wouldn't work in there alone beacuase of it. Its all part of the shop floor now though.
Theres loads of cool things I had forgotten about in this forum. Will try and think of some more. Keep em comin though!?!
My wife worked at Tesco Bidston Moss from the day it opened till she died in 2001. Was trying to remember the managers name , but he was a naughty boy having "an affair" with one of the ofice staff and got posted to a store in Wales

Before the Pyramids were built there was a church called St.Johns, the road came down from Grange Road and went round either side of the church and was called Huskisson Street.
here some pics from the Grange topic in history The vicar was Mr Howarth
and he used to wear big boots, he used to clonk past our house which was the caretakers house of the Welsh Chapel in The Woodlands, everyone called him a commie (communist)....no idea why.
When i was a kid in about 1950 me and my mates used to go fishing at a place in PRENTON it was a field with 3 ponds in It used to be called the three sisters, i think it was off a place called the mile end road We spent many hours catching Jackies, Sticklebacks & newts, anybody remember the place No fares for buses then, we walked there & back from Charring Cross it seemed miles away in them days
The three sisters ponds were situated opposite the old Woodchurch high school,From the Woodchurch you would walk along carr bridge road until you came to the cinder path then you would towards the railway line which was still steam powered then cross the railway bridge walk a couple of hundred yards you were then at the ponds. The Nocturum did for the ponds :-( ....Nick.
What about the THERMOPLE PATHS it was just past BIDSTON HILL as you go towards Ford hill There used to be a path on the left hand side that took you there I dont know how it got its name or if it had a Roman connection Had many a good time playing there Any one remember the place
Had a discussion last night, over a pint of course, and the subject came up about the place opposite the Park Entrance, now a furniture shop. I can remember the snooker hall on the first floor and there was a garage underneath it (a Ford dealership if I remember correctly). Anyway, I couldn't think of the name of the garage. A name of "Sherlock and A N Other" was put forward but I don't remember that as being the names. Anybody got a clue what it was called?
Dont know the name of the garage but i can remember the name Georgie Sherlock he was an old mate of me dads I can remember him dealing in cars i also remember another guy who was mentioned Ian Robinson
