Boots have got quite a few christmas jobs going (yes you'll have to do an online test!), Phones4U and Past Times both in Liverpool and the Card Factory in Birkenhead have christmas sales assistant jobs going. Pret a Manger in Chester also has vacancies but it doesn't say what hours they're looking for, you just apply online with what days you're available. There's also a shop called Ada and Richmond opening in Liverpool One soon that says it's recruiting soon but I couldn't find how to apply on their website and forgot what it said on the shop But might be worth a look, it's a 'fast food' place to do with oats!

Just being pedantic but it isn't 18 pages of jobs, it is 18 pages of posts about a handful of jobs. The jobs are mostly part time and minimum wage. So don't be planning a future, a mortgage or a holiday on the stregth of them.

From my side I have offered jobs to a lot of people over the years, and although some have been excellent I'll list just a few of the things EMPLOYERS have to cope with:
Applications forms filled in for them by job centre staff as they can't write/spell/read, but don't mention this at any point. Failing to turn up for interviews. Turning up with all their friends. Turning up wearing their pj's Being offered a job then never seeing them again Asking for a weeks wage advance, on their first day. Taking a three week holiday two weeks after starting, but not mentioning it as "it was booked before I started". Claiming to have a fear of phones so can't answer the works phone, but is quite happy to chat on their mobile. Thinking that logging into hard-core porn is okay if "it was quiet" (this was a teenage girl) Can't do any work that afternoon as they had their nails done at dinnertime, well go home then, will I still get paid, err, no. Turns up late EVERY day, turned out to be a late night WOW player. Fell asleep in the break room (another WOW player) Decides that closing time is the ideal time to go for a cigarette Asks for every weekend off to look after their child, who turns out isn't even in the country Goes on a callout and because it's quicker than expected goes home to play WOW
I could go on with lists of these all day, some funny, some quite serious, don't let me get started on certain peoples personal hygiene standards, it just seems that some people don't want to work and will do everything possible either not to get a job or to be fired from it when they do. It's either that or pj's are the business suits of today.

It's either that or pj's are the business suits of today. Looks like you managed to attract some rather special people there. Out of interest though, what type of conditions were you offering? Was it minimum wage?

OMG The Dr ,you have certainly had to put up with some crap haven`t you ,i take it as the truth ,unbelievable ,it`s awful ,you must of had some decent people though aswell I think everybody sees things from their own perspective, I remember a few years ago being offered some tickets for The Gadget Show or something similar and asked if anybody fancied going down for the day as it'd be a laugh, two staff asked if they'd be back by 6pm and if not would they get paid overtime. We didn't go. You only find out over time what some people are like, I have a couple now that I would, and do, trust completely and have complete faith in, however I also have a couple that I always make sure are working in areas of "minimal contact" because I don't think that their bag of talent is quite as full as they think it is. Just to answer some comments that have appeared as I was writing this, most people here know me because of the computer/mobile shop(s) that I have, and some of these are from there, but this isn't all I do, and some of the work is exceptionally well paid.
