hello, tombraider everyone, bert doesn,t have a shop this time he has a gold/coal/buttie/knicker {some kind of} mine???. As for pinz i,ll think of something? for him when i find a figure.Cheers for now mike...ann...x...
Hello folks, As it was a nice day i didn,t do much of the mine, me and ann walked up to oxton village. There is a small charity shop i managed to get another figure a ladder and a piece of stone wall all for the 1/12th scale mine, and i was,nt even looking for items. Ive just started to recycle the tunnels for the mine from the m.a.r railway. They will still be called ROBBO,S TUNNELS, like as before.cheers for now mike...ann..x..
AS you can see by the boots sticking out of the tunnel robbo is looking already!. I wonder what nasty creatures are going to be down there???? OR what will run around the layout? as it is being built?.WE shall see!?. mike. P.S just hope the thunder knicker bandit is not around!.

HI everyone, here is some more pictures of the mine tunnel and of the crew who are helping to build bert,s mine, ive managed to make some corregated cardboard to make shacks/toilet/etc. I make it by soaking the cardboard with hot water then peeling one side off and hey presto corregated looking iron sheeting,i dont know? why the thunder knicker bandit is sitting in the tree she,s not even the right scale!.I will be taking some pictures later of the bits to use in making a small diesel loco for bert. mike...ann...x..
Hello everyone, the two wagons i got 6 months ago were the wrong scale for the m.a.r railway, but i kept them for a future project.Well this 1/12th mine project is just right for them but the wheels would go no where near the OO gauge track. So a little trick is to get two old hornby chassis, take the old big wheels of the wagon then screw the hornby chassis on and hey presto! the wagon is transformed to fit on OO gauge =7 1/4" 1/12th scale. IF you look at the photo,s you will see the red wagon has the old wheels and the yellow wagon has its new wheels. Now the other photo is some of the bits to make a diesel loco. The thin metal sheet was given to me by wiki member yewgarth {thanks mate} and rivet embossing tool as well, so i,ll try and start making it tomorrow? im still not sure what type? yet to make. cheers for now mike...ann...x..
HI, just TEST ran the wagons and the little hornby motor chassis around the layout with a 9 volt battery, and yes it works! the wagons clear the mine entrance JUST and no wobbling great!, so up and onwards. cheers mike...ann..x..
