done a little bit more on this lately, got hold of a fibreglassing kit and a few other little bits. its the first time i've used fibreglass so was a bit dubious about how it'd turn out. came out well on first attempt though here's the pics of the progress ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05jan/cruiswirralxadam005.jpg) hole for the cable ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05jan/cruiswirralxadam006.jpg) have timmed it away a little bit here so its not perfectly flush, this is because i'll be adding more fibreglass when moulding this casing into the centre console ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05jan/cruiswirralxadam007.jpg) im very happy with the outcome have a bit of sticky residue left on the screen from the masking tape being on there overnight and then having the fibreglass on so need to get that off. going to start moulding the screen housing into the centre console soon

quite a bit of progress lately have put down a couple of layers of fibreglass matting and thin aluminium mesh to bridge the gap between the screen housing and the console itself, then it was on with the P38 filler to make a smooth finish (smoothing hasn't been finished yet!) ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05jan/cruiswirralxadam013.jpg) with screen in ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05jan/cruiswirralxadam014.jpg) andy's let me his orbital sander which should hopefully get a better finish than taking forever with sandpaper. lots more smoothing to still be done, im trying not to rush it as i want it to be perfect when im done

progress has been a bit slow lately having a bit of trouble getting it all perfectly smooth, the problem is that i done have much experience with using filler so its not as perfect as i want it. im thinking of taking it to a bodyshop to give it one last layer and smooth it to perfection. had a quote of £30 to smooth it and finish it all off, and £50 to paint it as well, and it would probably cost me about £20 in paint anyway so im thinking about letting the bodyshop take over the last step as i've done pretty much all i can.
