Can't see if this has been posted before, but this is supposed to be an old photo of Seacombe Ferry in 1876. Nothing in it looks familiar to me. Could it be Eastham Ferry?

I agree, it's certainly Seacombe. Between 1876 and 1880 the area in the foreground was infilled, and Victoria Place and a new Ferry Terminal were built on the reclaimed land. That's why this photo bears little resemblance to what's there today.

The Marine Hotel is in the centre of the picture. This stood directly opposite the ferry terminal on the corner of Birkenhead Road

It is indeed Seacombe - prior to the land being reclaimed.

Postcard of the new Seacombe Ferry. I remember the busses being lined up like that. Do they still do that?

Nooo. I do remember in the late 80s/ early 90s that the 'bus numbers' were gold painted onto the cobbles, in their designated parking spaces.
There is only two bus stops now. One by the ferry for Wallasey bound buses and the other is for Birkenhead bound buses.

A more recent view of Seacombe Ferry. Wallasey Corporation bus going to New Brighton I think. The number 1 used to go from Seacombe to New Brighton. The old Seacombe Ferry pub in the background. Lovely cobbled square back then too

This is a drawing of Seacombe Ferry in 1817. Liverpool in the distance. Them small boats musta been hard work

The old ferry buildings and clock tower were replaced in 1932. So I'm guessing from the look of the vehicles in this picture it must be early 1920's (if not before).

Maybe someone can date the car.
