I am currently researching my family, the Averys of Elgin Street on my mothers side and my Dads family also. They were called Williams, and I have discovered that my paternal grandfather married in 1906 and they lived in School Place, Birkenhead. Is anybody aware of where this was please?
I am using CheshireBMD,UKBMD and the various census. I have also found the military ones good re WW1. 14 on my Mums side and 5 on Dads so family vast. Any further good sites would be appreciated. Many thanks for your offer of help.
On my grandparents marriage certificate, it says they were living at no. 14 in 1906. When was it pulled down and built over with Cathcart Street School, do you know?

No.14 would not have been affected by the building of the school; it was about half way between Watson St. and the school. It's still there on the 1950's map Derek posted.
