Many thanks Mark. I rebooted and this gave windows update a shake up. Some updates from Microsoft wouldn't install such as for office 2010. Think this was the spanner in the works. Bad updates. Thanks again

I've been told there is a big Windows 10 update in October to fix many of the bugs reported. When exactly i don't know so there could be more peace of mind not too far away.

The October update that Mark mentioned is rolling out, if your Windows 10 computer and internet is a bit slow while this downloads don't be surprised.
Takes a while to switch off while it does the final parts of the update as well - I didn't bother hanging around to find out how long.

I got the October update yesterday. Rebooted and all is working fine. Can't say I noticed and difference though. Start-up is perhaps slightly slower.

Still not updated, waiting for bugs to be sorted and have kept an eye on this thread. I noticed it's been quiet for a few weeks and unsure whether thats a sign saying things are now smooth with Win 10 so maybe now is the time to update?

I upgraded the other week but I went back to windows 7 on Sunday,it was ok just when I was downloading photos off my camera was what me change back.On 7 the thing comes up to import & it just imports the recent photos I've taken but on 10 it kept wanting to download the ones I've already got so I had about 4 copies of every pic.If I had more time I probably could of figured it out.

Things like photos, music etc are set to use the default windows 10 setting. If you'd turned that off you would have had control. You also need to go through all the security settings are put them how you want them not how window wants you to have them.

I had problems with upgrading my laptop a few months ago. Now i'm happy to say its gone through, all devices are now correctly installed. And even better news is that my internet security (Bitdefender) is also compatible now and come over no problem.
I'm thinking the octobre updates window performed for windows 10 have helped me.
I was 7 to 10

I had a few problems loading Google earth, and when it did load up usually crashed after a couple of minutes but seems to be working again now,not sure if it was linked to Windows 10.

Could just be a random or maybe google earth needed an update that has now happened, I've not had either the online google earth or standalone google earth crash under Windows 10 - prior to 10 I had to use an old version of standalone google earth and the online one was always a bit flakey.

Microsoft has been testing a fresh update to Windows 10 for the past few months, and now it's ready to release it to everyone. More than 110 million machines are now running Windows 10, and they'll all be offered the update today. The update includes a number of fixes and UI changes that were originally planned for the final version of Windows 10. http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/12/9705446/microsoft-windows-10-november-update-download

Just got the November update installed. Again, all running fine but can't tell much difference. Generally pleased with Win 10 so far. Definitely faster than 8.1. Didn't like the Start menu though so changed to Classic Shell. Recently cloned and replaced my 500GB hard drive with a 240GB SSD. Great performance. Boots in approx 20 seconds, shuts down in 8 seconds. Highly recommended improvement.
