There used to be a "Hamilton Vaults" on the corner of Price Street and Market Street (picture KH 6 at Birkenhead Library index). I'm not sure if this may have been the bank.

And the Birkenhead History Society had an article on the Copperfield in Issue 72.

The Hamilton Vaults was refurbished and renamed The Copperfield around 1970, I think.

I don't think Market St had a corner with Price St.

Lock up normally means the premises were not occupied overnight.

John Davie may well have lived at the Park View Hotel, its possible that's what the directory means.

In the 1911 directory for the Park View Hotel, 428 Price St,
Alfred Newbold.

Its possible John Davie was running the Hamilton Vaults for Alfred Newbold and living at the Park View.

Snippet for info on missing soldiers, 1916,
Mr Newbold at the Hamilton Vaults.
