well they say they rescued it and show a live elephant on land....
Wow...that was a challenge . I wonder if it was the same elephant too ? The other was obviously a wild one, this was tied up ! Maybe recuperating.
Update: It was saved and ok , although exhausted, but they think it has come from a sanctuary.

Magic World, Aleppo. 13 animals rescued by Four Paws from this bombed zoo where over 130 animals died, and those remaining were cared for in very difficult circumstances by Omir and his brother. Omir says' Four Paws had said they would take him with them, so he could be with his animals, but they did not. He still does not understand why not. He now has no job and nothing left.
Another tragedy of this war !!

This is some of Omir's story.
My name is Omir I was born in 1979 in Aleppo, Syria. I had illustrated a factor in the zoo called (Magic World) a place far from the center of Aleppo. Within seventeen years I was raising and serving animals Then the war broke out in 2011. The zoo owner left the country to escape to America. I could not leave the animals without food or water. I am a normal worker and my brother helps me during this period. I borrowed money to feed the animals and bring the chickens to feed the animals. Every time I lose a lot of animals. Tiger died, the bear and two lion died as for all snakes died. Six years passed a difficult hit the zoo bombed two cars and destroyed some buildings. In addition, my brother Nasser al-Din, Who went by car to fetch food for animals, but, lost his way in an air raid. Leave behind a wife and child. Notice that I pay Salaries to the worker who works in the zoo. I live very hard days. But myself do not allow me to leave these animals to hunger So, I appeal to you to save my life with animals
I have sacrificed my family and my children can not go to school

Where did you find Omirs story granny? Was it on FB or something . Theres no second name and no contact details.Im wondering if this is just old plea/post that has been shared , long after the event was 'live' One article I read, does say that locals had been feeding the animals in the time before Paws could execute the rescue.
Hi Venice. I deleted his full name. He has got videos on FB and yes he has posted a bit of his story. I am in touch with him, but it's very hard sometimes to understand the proper translation. Paws took a long time to rescue the animals and he had been asking them and others for help for a long time before. I don't think he understands that to actually get animals out of a country involves so much time due to legal papers etc.,. and expense. I have also tried to explain how Paws would not have been able to transfer him from Turkey to Jordan (where the animals are now) as they would not be likely to pay for his transport. Not sure if he understands that either. Yes, it is a plea Omir is making, and is wanting recognition, or something that none of us completely understand, but he is not wanting money. I just think he's completely bereft of everything. Dr Khalil did give them recognition as you see in the video, but not by name. Too dangerous to do that, even now . It was a really difficult and dangerous journey they took to rescue the animals as posted on another video of Dr Khalil ."Bad men, very bad men" he stated.

Wow, didnt have sound the whole time , so did it say if that was that a planned meeting or unexpected? Id have been expecting my head to be bitten any minute !
I love Gorilla's, they so like us. Loved the way the Silverback watched over his family just like a dad does. That experience for that guy must have been awesome and he did well to keep as still as he did, not sure I could have. Great to watch thanks Granny..
No Venice, not planned or staged in any way. He does explain at the beginning that they were staying at a reservation type place, under canvas and just a few times a year the wild Gorillas find their way into the camp part.
Primates are the only species that share the same blood groups as ourselves. We can see the similarities'
Cools, It was the big chap, daddy, that amazed me. He moved and they all followed him. Poking his kid in the back to move it out of the way, and his face with the way he looked at the guy when he was about to move off, just a smidgen of " you are of no concern, mate". Made me laugh.
Venice.... Wirral Donkeys, Gills Lane, are thinking of having an event on the 8th October. They had put it in their diary, but I've not heard anything since.
