I appreciate you fiddling though for me Bert!

Looking at the rest of the pictures, the only other one that might date them is one which shows a slightly distant view of Bromborough Power Station (the CEGB one). Alongside it are three oil tanks (on the Eastham side), which suggest it has been converted to oil firing, especially as the coal stockyard is empty. I don't suppose you (or anyone else) have any access to information as to when the conversion took place?
I 'may' have read it in the 'Railways of Port Sunlight and Bromborough Port' book that it was around 1960? (which fits) - but I don't have it to hand right now.
Thanks again for your time.

Billy,

The only snippet I can find, hope it's helpful.

It might give me a hook to dig deeper Bert, but it seems to infer (to me anyway) that it is a new power station (why would you need trial bores for a power station built 1949-50?)
Thanks for the snippet though - all good stuff for the research.

Here's a blow up of the power station bit I'm talking about if anyone's interested:

Billy,

The complete article will no doubt refer to elsewhere "Bore Holes" this snippet at least proves the Oil Tanks (oil fired) were in place by 1962.

an earlier posting you contributed to, page 2

Forgot about that thread Bert - thanks!

Most of page 2 is referring to the two other power stations in the area - the 'Merseyside Power Station' for Levers, and the 'Central Power Station' which was a smaller scale backup station for Stork.
The third power station, the CEGB one in my picture was slightly further down the river bank towards Eastham.
Don't know what that proves, but just thought I might clarify!

Thanks again for the help.
