Last year i got a £25 per week pay rise as i am team leader [ i hate that phase ] the tax man took half of it, so i wasn't any more better off! probably work more hours in a day than all of the above, If you look at the budget set out in April, it was around £658 million you can take £5 million off for wages! The Council tax will be going up again next year by another 4% and what do we get for all this tax we pay? The privilege of living in a shit hole!

Councillors can and do put in the hours often getting less than the minimum wage and paying paying national insurance on those allowances. Not bad for a Voluntary Unpaid community role and before anybody says anything, first consider the thousands of community volunteers on the Wirral, many doing jobs that the Council and/or Government should be paying them for.
