I want to buy a new PC in a few months and I have not had a good rig for about 15 years so bit rusty on the old graphics cards and that. I want to play the likes of Rome total war 2 and some flight sims but not got a clue what rig is best for such games.
Anyone got an ideas? Thanks

My recommendation would be to check the likes of ebuyer and search for Gaming Pcs.
Read the reviews.
Maybe watch the Graphic Card Spec and the power supply. Graphics cards can be replaced, so it may not be a big deal to purchase with a low end graphics card.
Even the best gaming pcs can not run the new flight Sim on ultra settings. But you can have a great experience on a £250 Graphics Card.
Its not like the old days, where you needed to spec everything twice, reviews from owners are a great guide.
However you may also consider a dedicated gaming machine like ps5 etc..
Hope that gives you some guidence.

All boils down to budget really. At least half of your budget should be spent on your graphics card. Another very important thing that people over look is the monitor. No point in having a rig capable of 120 FPS and running it on a 60 FPS monitor at 1080.

Thanks for replies. I should have around 650 700 to spend don't need monitor as the one I have BenQ which is only a couple of years old with HDMI and VGA ports. Doesn't have to be a top spec PC just one that can run games on medium to high settings.

miss the good old days, going around the computer fairs, buying bits and building your own pc, used to love all that. Not done it in years and wouldn't know what to look for now.
Good luck on your build.

Hey there! I totally get where you're coming from, getting back into the gaming scene after a while can be a bit daunting. For Rome Total War 2 and flight sims, you'll want a decent CPU (like an AMD Ryzen 5), a good GPU (NVIDIA GTX series or the newer RTX cards), and a minimum of 8GB RAM (though 16GB would be better).

If you're not interested in building your own PC, there are some pre-built options like CyberPower PC and HP Omen which cater to different budgets. Don't forget to keep an eye on sales too! Also, if you're short on cash, you might want to check out how to make money on audible ( https://joywallet.com/article/how-to-make-money-on-audible/ ) – it's helped me add a bit of extra cash on the side. Good luck with your new PC!
