Thanks for a nice find in Industrial Archaeology. It's hard to imagine the River Dibbin being tidal up the valley, almost to the railway tunnel, before Price's and Lever's changed it all. (Bromborough Mills, page 137).

That was fascinating, thank you! Think what a tourist attraction a working mill would be on Wirral, but I think Bidston Mill would take a fortune to renovate and the access probably wouldn't meet modern standards. It's a pity - to see those sails turning on the skyline again would be quite something. I've been inside Llynnon Mill on Anglesey, which I think is the only working mill in Wales, surprisingly; also Tuxford Mill in Nottinghamshire. It's quite an experience, being inside a working windmill.
