Eamonn Holmes crying tears that he's going to have to sell his home to pay the £250,000 tax bill because he has been aggressively fiddling his tax for the last 10 years.
Perhaps he is hoping someone will start a crowdfunder to pay it instead of losing his home.
Except .... him and his misses earn over £5M a year, they probably have more than £250k down the back of the sofa if they could be bothered checking instead of trying to gain pity.
If he had just coughed up it would have saved him more than £100k in legal fees trying to fight it.
Nice man!

Shame. I read yesterday that Starmer, since he was public prosecutions , gets a tax free pension.
" After stepping down as Director of Public Prosecutions, Starmer was granted a tax-unregistered pension "
How the other half live.. indeed !

Tax unregistered pensions aren't as simple as not paying tax, normally when you pay into a pension scheme you get a tax allowance and when you withdraw you get a pension charge. A tax unregistered pension doesn't get the tax allowance when it is paid into and so is exempt from the pension tax charge.
Also the DPP pension wasn't Starmer's choice, he was the employee not the employer. I'm sure it not the only "special" pension scheme for those with power.
But if this gets rid of Starmer, all the better. Its often the non-sensible matters that see their downfall rather than more serious matters in some game I don't really understand.

It was just another example of how the other half live, but Starmer having so much concern for the strugglers of this kingdom and gets free b's, against Holmes who feels he needs to fiddle the tax man.. It just seemed to create a balance. Both of whom live like the 'other half ' you mention, compared to the most of us. It's not even possible for people like them to fully understand the miserable lives that the ordinary people are dealing with, even though they portray they understand, but there will always be wealth to make the world go around. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/pensions/news/keir-starmers-pension-how-much-tax-could-save/
