What's going on on patch of green between Rock Park and The Dell? This is the patch overlooking the river with two large willow trees in the middle. Today, a digger has appeared and seems to have scraped of the turf over a wide are and piled it into a heap.

I've seen no planning notices for housing, but given the council's enthusiastic efforts to deny us all the little green space we have left it would not surprise me in the least if this is the beginning of another cramped development of tiny houses, poorly insulated (but richly priced) which seems the norm now. I can't see it being landscaping!

I honestly can't face the prospect of wrestling with the Councils planning website which seems designed to supply as little information as possible.

Like numerous other places (30 sites?) in the Wirral they are planting wild flowers, they wouldn't require planning permission..

Vanity project, there are plenty of places with scrap land where this could be done.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Well its better than more bloody housing.

Why can't they just leave it alone to go wild?

I noticed how enthusiastic the council are about eliminating all the new crack willows that spring up from the two still there. You'd think that trees planting themselves would be welcome, but no. As soon as these saplings are noticed they are cut down.

Nature is perfectly capable of looking after itself without council assistance. The simply need to LEAVE IT ALONE!
