Can sombody help me.
I need a (want) a better engine for my 4i.
Whats the best engine i could go for and how much would it cost and who could do it.
Martin (grizz) will do my 24v cossie swap but its going to cost me the best part of £1200 to get a car for the engine and then the swap.
I dont mind about fuel as the car wont be a daily driver i want to be able to get the engine tunned over 250bhp and would like a good amount of turque.
Can sombody tell me what engine to go for please.
The shells are gone on mine and by the way things are looking i may need to have crank work done and to be honest i carnt be arsed as i want to change the engine somwere down the line anyway.
The car is staying i will not be selling it so the swap will take pace as soon as funds are sorted.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT PEPS. ================================== Admin edit : Changed the title

You need to consider the costs involved mate.
Is it really worth putting a £1200 engine in a £500 car ? Can you afford £1200 for an engine conversion ?
I would get your 4i sorted out with minimal costs and see how that goes.
If your serious about spending £1200 on an engine conversion then sell your 4i once its running and put some cash to it and buy a cheap Cosworth Sierra or a 200sx maybe ?
Personally i think you should look at getting the 4i back on the road economically and then see how things go from there. If you access the cash then look at selling and getting a drift car.
Hope this helps ??

Yer helps ate but its the getting it back on the road bit thats pissing me off as i carnt get the engine to work. And to be honest with you mate its killing what little confidence i have with working on engines.
I am not a fan of saph cossie's (dont like the looks) and i would like a 200sx BUT they also have bigend shell problems.
I have always wanted a 4i since i was a kid and dont want to get rid of it. Plus how many of them do you see on the road.
Also i keep saying i am doing this and i am doing that and dont do it. But with the 4i i will do it even if it takes along time.
Cheers for the idea that mate

Same place crank wheel turns but the crank dosnt seem to be turning. I am prob moving the wrong thing I have slackend off all the shell bolts so i carnt be them. Only thing i can think of is the cranks gone egg shaped but there are no marks on the crank to say its damaged.

Just incase you dont read my other post, Give me a bell and i'll get it running for you mate. It pisses me off that its not running yet after the unfortunete incidents that happend around Xmas, so I still kick myself about it every time the 4i is mentiond.

I am going to play with the car today matey.
Hoping to get it running before i go away.
But the engine swap will be happaning but its just finding the right one.
I have been told on other forums that the 24v cossie angine can have a turbo bolted straight on so that looks like the way i am going and i have had a good quote of sprayforce to fit it to.

If the engine is a "V" set up, you'll have 3 exhaust ports on each side of the engine. So, unless you want to go down the path of routing 3 exhaust ports round the block to run a single turbo, you need 2 small turbos - each turbo being fed by 3 exhaust ports.
If its a 3.0 (give or take a few cc) best option would prolly be a pair of t2's for minimal lag, as each turbo will only be fed by 1500cc.
