I personally cant believe it....its true that if you think about modern rallying...his name has always been there right at the top.....Now hes decided to leave, what does that mean? Basically means Loeb .. is gonna have an unbeaten "Best Driver Ever" award, and why?....cos decent drivers like Gronholm, Makkinen, Auriol, Sainz, Panizzi, Mcrae, Kankkunen, Liatti and all the other greats arent in it anymore. We dont know whats with Solberg, it could either be his car is utter crap, or his confidence and speed have disappeared since that huge crash in Germany a few years ago. This is clearly the downfall of Rallying, Its not even on prime Time tv anymore, so the younger audience who may want to continue Britains legacy are wasting away, going unnoticed..wasted talent. It seems rallying is a dying breed now.....and im maddened and saddened cos its my first and true Motorsport love....and Bas*ard Loeb is gonna win it all......

That's a shame, but maybe someone will get more backing and support from a team to bring on the challenge.
It will be a familiar face that i will be sad to see go. For the championship battle factor.

This years championship is just as exciting, if not more than the current F1 battle.. The only difference being that F1 has a British Driver in it. If Gronhlm can do it, that would end a 4 year championship winning streak for Loeb..and i hope he does it by miles
I think its possibly a case of Nationality wins the crowd....cos rallying was very popular back around 2001, with Richard Burns (RIP)....but now theres no-one decent and British (Matthew Wilson doesnt count, cos he is crap)..so the Brtish Audiences turn off.

Tbh mate, all motosport is suffering audience wise nowadays, ITV are actually rumored to want rid of F1 because the audience share is so shit and advertisers dont pay as much as they used to. Sooner or later, all motorsport bar the odd competition, will be on Sky or Setanta, as the PSB companies simply can't afford to keep paying the rediculous prices it commands in light of rapidly falling audience shares. F1 went boring after about 2000, when Schuey was wining time and time again without competition, then Renault can back to life and suddenly it was interesting. After the events in Italy yesterday, it is now being looked upon as a scandel cheat ridden sport, which is likely to have some major casualties, and will hit viewing figures as well as sponsorship etc... I personally have no interest in watching it now, if Alonso or Hamilton win the championship now, then its a complete and utter farce imho, as all the major media organisations and motorsport pundits are saying, the only reason they wernt kicked out of the championship is because F1 and the FIA are shit scared of the conseqences if it had happened, the sport would be next to killed off. As it is though, people arnt stupid and nether are sponsors and television companies. The end of F1 is well on its way imho, viewer figures will never recover to replicate those of the 1980's and 1990's, the money within the sport is going to be seriously dented now, as is the reputation of the sport. I think I would watch WRC before I would watch F1 nowadays, watched the race last weekend in F1 and the amount of corner cutting by Hamilton to save his place at the start was stupid and a clear sign of how cheat-riddled F1 is nowadays. On a plusnote though, the gradual and slow death of F1, can only be good for other forms of motorsport, as people look for alternatives.

The Twin Squirrel helicopter registered to the former world champion rally driver came down shortly after 4pm yesterday about 200 yards from his 17th-century mansion.
