my car's steerin wheel vibrates rediculously around 80mph, almost as if it's about to come off in my hands! lol - been told it could be loads of things from uneven tyre wear, unbalanced wheels, wheel alignment, etc, etc so annoyin lol
It's only one of those things, unless you've been in a crash. Go to Cleveland Tyres on Cleveland street and they will balance your wheels (they will put those little lead weights at different points). Mine didn't vibrate at all, until I put the spare on, which wasn't balanced, and the car was vibrating at speed!!
All the wheels have been balanced, front and rear, so it's not that.
I think the disks are warped very slightly and it was made worse by the worn bush on the drop link.
Will find out later when I put new discs on though

Well, after spending days painting and preparing the new hubs and calipers for fitting, I found out that the handbrake cables on the drums are totally different to that used on the discs.
So now I need to buy some new handbrake cables costing £14 each
Anyway, managed to get the new front discs on and sprayed the front calipers too. Not the best of jobs, didnt even remove the rust, just wanted them painted for now.

Something which I haven't done since I've had the car and the old one was a BMW one, which means its either a 15 year old orignal from factory or the car has been serviced or replaced with genuine BMW parts in the past
Still trying to find handbrake cables so I can do the rear disc conversion - Anyone suggest anywhere? I've tried all the scrappys on Cleveland Street and none of them have any and I dont fancy paying £28 for new cables

I had to nick the rear bumper brackets off Andys car as the studs on my bracket were too short to fit the tow bar

Finally got round to buying the handbrake cables and pads for the rear brakes I bought a few months ago and fitted it all this weekend
Quite an easy job and well worth doing for the appearance alone.
