Great Johnno now what about the rest of them. I thought I would have been bombarded by now. Oh well, I suppose you have better things to do. Dave Miller

Yeah i remember LEO'S on the woodchurch were Asda is, Went to see "BATMAN" a few times in Birkenhead where "SLICES" nightclub is, Remember the "DAIRY" by the SWAN my Gdad worked there. Used to love going to New Brighton to the road that was just all arcades, remember the best chip shop ever on the corner by were you used to get the buses?, The Waltzers were fab and those planes that took you up then when you pressed the lever to come down they made a dead loud noise!!. I used to love New Brighton. "ADVENTURE LAND" used to be great had a massive rope bridge over the bumpy slide and a "DEATH SLIDE" just a straight drop, you were the dogs if you went down that ha ha. The old Ghost Train had been turned into a ball pond, wasnt impressed with that!!. Shame its not so good now for my children Remember the old Asda in Bhead with the car park on the roof too!. God am getting old!!.

I remember all that too bought, but the earliest film I remember going to see was Purple Rain with my 2nd boyfriend. His name was John, he was a goth and lived in Heswall lol. Had the most amazing bedroom - walls were painted black and on one wall he had painted a full graveyard scene, complete with moon and sky. The sky continued onto the ceiling where he had painted the whole of the constellations on it in illuminous paint. Still blows my mind now!! Thanks for that lass - made me smile

No probs, aw i miss the old times Its such a shame New Brighton just isnt like it used to be, we say it was good when we were little, and My nan says it was fab when the pier e.t.c was there, they need to sort it out and make it a place where people want to bring thier families and have a holiday not just a day trip. i love a good old rant ha ha

I quite agree doll, it used to be a great place! I remember the baths very well. A few friend and I went to a music thing there and saw Eddie Grant, Howard Jones, Nick Kershaw, Madness, Kajagoogoo and a few other bands too. I remember jumping in the baths and losing my bikini top - a couple of the lads jumped in and robbed it very embarrassing! Think it was Duckhead, Lobo and Spainey that were the culprits. Wonder what happened to all them. Hmmmmm.

We used to get a saveaway on a saturday and go down to the fair. We'd get a pass thing that you could go on all the rides as many times as you liked from 6-9pm I think it was. Used to spend most of our time on the waltzers because the lads on it were cute (how shallow were we lol). I was always the one left holding the bags and keeping an eye out for the bus while my mates were "baggin' off" in the crazy golf
