I havent ragged the car tbh.. always keep it between 2500 and 5000 because sounds so sweet within the range.
I think hes slightly jealous, but doesnt want to let on. Basically, hes done some work to his escort, and the Alfa is faster and better handling standard.

Escort failed its MOT, and needed 2 new front Wishbones, 2 new sets of brakes....and has as many holes in it as a basket.
Its a T reg, aka one year newer than mine.

I was just thinking.
If all that is required is a new headgasket, and to skim the Cylinder head..... will skimming not increase the compression rate, increasing the power, but reducing reliability??

not enough to make a difference. if the head is warped then it may take up to 8thou for the skim.

The Alfa WILL LIVE AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!! Fellas been in touch. Thermostat seized, causing engine to overheat and headgasket to go poof. No damage to the engine whatsoever, so head is being skimmed, new parts gettin delivered...hopefully shell be breathing by end of the week

Fact that I dropped the clutch straight away and didnt carry on down the motorway saved us from either scrapping the beast or reconditioning for about £1500.... so Im a Happy Bunny Gonna wait for loan to come in now....and hopefully some cash from race team..and Ill be able to pay my dad back for repairs
