There was an old one on New Chester Road (on the wall next to Cammell Lairds) A red Victorian one.I don't think it ever worked though,not in my time anyway.

There used to be quite a big drinking fountain near Charing Cross, Birkenhead, set into the wall near the premises of Harding's the coach firm, between Grange Road and Oliver Street.

The one at flaybrick cemetry is still there, its just like an outside tap you have in your garden now rather than a drinking fountain, there is a sign saying dont drink, we used to fill water ballons up with it when we were kids
