Forums Forums Wirral History : Chasing the Past History Information Request Fountains in Hamilton Square?

Can anyone tell me if there were once fountains in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead? I seem to remember them near the Duncan Street side of the Square when I was a child in the 50s - but I'm probably getting confused in my old age. Any information would be welcome.

I don't remember fountains myself, but that means nothing, here is a picture of that part of the square 1920.
