for those too young to remember an entry or jigger as we called them was the passage way between back to back terraced houses down which which the binmen used to go to collect peoples dustbins which were put out of your backyard.
I'm trying to find one to get a photo of Preferably one covered at the start of it
I want to do some pics to a song by Larry White "When I was a lad from Birkenhead"
where he says "stand in the jigger listening to the pouring of the rain"
Anyone else heard this song

I've never seen a covered jigger unless you mean the covered entry between two houses, like on the woodchurch, as children we used to call that the jigger. But in the traditional sense, never seen a covered one. Do remember the binmen though, when bins where bins and full of ashes. when they dropped anything it didn't worry them bending down to pick it up.

you are right it was between 2 houses at the beginning of the entry where I lived just off Grange Road near the swings
Remember if you bagged off in the Craftsmans club Grange Road you could usually find a jigger handy for a neckin session

Am giving myself airs calling myself a gentleman
I did buy Dr Brunos Memory Help 30 years ago and if I can remember where I put it I;ll have to dig it out someday
Only got as far as the 1st part where you had to associate what you wanted to remember with items attached to a Maypole EG a loaf of bread(to remember to get)floating in giant teacup
