Looking at buying a new car and wanting to know the best places to buy on the Wirral that you can recommend? Possibly spending 2 - 3 grand on any smallish type car that gets me from A to B. Any ideas?
Sorry if this has been posted before on Wiki Wirral, can you point me in the direction of it if it has please.
Many Thanks!!

Wright car centre, Chester High Road Heswall, good quality cars. there is another dealer next to it but most cars although cheaer are shabby and with higher milage. Wirral small cars in Heswall have some descent little cars at reasonable prices too. Hope this helps.

I suggest you look at a private sale, decide what type of car you like.
For the price their is hundreds of Corsa's, Fiesta's, Polo's and the like.
I find car dealers push for a sale. If you do decide on a car from some of the places above always make sure you do a HPI check regardless of what the dealer/seller says.
Remember if in dought walk away.
For example i looked at a Mondeo ST24 the other day, rust on brake discs, bonnet release snapped, seat really saggy, even spiders webs on the arch. They still wanted top money even with them "few" faults i seen.

It is Heatherlands next door to Wrights, I've had a couple of cars off them and have been fine, they used to always change the cambelts but they don't seem to do that since they moved, used to be in Thurstaston by Sandy lane before Chester High Road and had an excellent reputation.

I would go to the garages, find some cars that you like, maybe test drive them etc. Do a deal but say youll come back in a few days when youve had a good think about it. Then look private and see if you can get a better deal. It might work out best if you get free servicing for a year or somethingl ike that, butm ore often then not, private is better.
I HATE cars.

Knowing nothing about cars!!! Just seen this one online. I know its a crap colour and shape but this seems quite reasonable for mileage. Has anyone else got one of these to comment please? Thanks

hmmm!! you gotta point, but it does have tinted windows so might be able to get away with it and I just want an A to B car not really bothered about what people think (thats probably a sacrilegious thing to say on this forum and you should probably remove this. hehe!).
Does CS car sales have a good rep do you know?? as it seems quite reasonable for a car this age and mileage.

There are quite a lot of these low-mileage mini-MPV type cars around, and yes they are a good buy - if you have late-teens kids that you want to leave home then the sight of these usually succeeds in shifting them.
Still enquire about how complete the service history is, low mileage is not an excuse to never get a car serviced although you can expect a reduced amount of servicing, even with no mileage they need to be serviced at least every two years..
The other cars similar are Suzuki Swift and Vauxhall Agila. The Nissan has a bigger engine, the others may seem bit under-powered. The Nissan is a dearer car because it does have more refineents but this is a reasonable price from a dealer.
No experience of Nissan other than everybody seems pleased with their bigger cars.

I would take a trip to the auctions, ewloe or chester are two of the best. You don't need to be a mechanic to spot a bargain and you will save loads of money on what the rip off car dealers will charge you, they have them on the weekends but i tend to go midweek as not as many people there and cars tend to go a little cheaper,I've bought about half a dozen cars for myself over the years and i've never had a bad one.Go along to one and take a look before you buy,you will be surprised what you get for your money, have a look at the ticket in the windscreen and it tells you if theres any tax and m.o.t left,as a rule i tend not to buy if the m.o.t has run out or has very little left and i usually go for a car thats been put in by a dealership as its probably been put in part exchange against a new one and the dealership hasn't got room for it on the forcourt
