check your xbox warrantys on xbox website. My 360 arcade had the open tray fault. Sent it to microsoft 9 days later i got a black 360 elite.

I bought my daughter a ninetendo Wii for christmas and it is fantastic, also got mariokart which I remember playing when I was young.

I still have hours of fun playing Missile Command on my Atari 2600.

how many people here will be asking how do I fix the rrod in the next 3 months, I give up on the xbox after my 2nd one got the rrod within 2months, took it back to gamestation and got a ps3, oh and I can hear the games how over the fan lol.

Undoubtedly the PS3 "hardware" is far superior, it costs a bucketload more, so you'd expect it to be.

However, the X360 simply has far better games, and XBL (like or love it) is way better than PSN.

With the hilarious failure of GT5, I think its fair to say at the moment that there simply isn't a valid reason to own a PS3, at least for me.

Just been online for free on the ps3. Then enjoyed watchin Taken on full 1080p Bluray.

Also Dan, hardly a hilarious failure compared to forza 3 "superior" grafix.

Hmm, well £39 a year hardly breaks the bank for me, and as for watching BluRay, thats what a BluRay player is for, to me a PS3 or an Xbox is primarily a games console - and as such, what matters, are the games - so to GT5...

The Graphics are a total sideline, I'm talking more along the lines of the gameplay mechanics, lousy tuning options, only 20% of the cars have interiors, the bad design choices, the fact that the much trumpeted "Dynamic weather" only works on three or four tracks, along with the "Dynamic Time Of Day" that again works on only three or four tracks. WTF is with the Prius? The hippie bus and the Kubelwagen? What on earth is Kazunori thinking? They are not the ingredients of a racing game.

I think the average for GT5 on Metacritic is about 84%, versus F3's 95% ish. Compared to what was supposed to be offered, what the dedicated PS hardcore got, was very much a let down. As born out by the reviews. Shame really, I WANTED it to be awesome. But Forza 3 (when played with the proper Fanatec PWTS wheel) is still the king, and has visual tyre flex - cracking.

Of course people are going to defend GT5, hell, there isnt another racer on the PS3 they can gather around, and if I'd just payed nearly £300 for a games console, I'd defend it too. Anyways, nothing inspires rage in people more than console wars, so I shall keep my 2p's to myself and duck out at this point.

On a final note, IMHO, the PS3 is totally engineered for a market that doesn't yet exist. Microsoft did all their number crunching and (again IMHO) rightly said that there really is hardly any need for BluRay at present, when the majority are still more than happy with the capacity and quality of DVD. For once, me and MS, totally agreed.
