Anyone remember Hamilton Secondary school, for the sons of gentlemen, now looks as if it's an office and the playground is now a carpark,AG Evans the PE Teacher,McIntyre the headmaster followed by HE Hunt,Parry the woodwork master, life was hard but these made it harder. LOL

I remember Birkenhead Institute. I went to St Anselm's, and everytime we drove past on the minibus thing to the sports ground (in Noctorum), they were all standing outside shouting abuse at us. Really horrible school with reject scally pupils (sorry if anyone went there!). It's now gone, it's only famous pupil being Wilfred Owen, the war poet (of which a name under the grounds is named after).

When B.I shut then kids from that school came to our school (park high) that was a massive mistake as them schools were always battling each other.

Hamilton Secondary (Hemmy)
what years were you there (me 57/58) I remember there were 4 forms for each year Upper and Lower 1a and Upper and Lower 1b Harry Lett was maths teacher The music teacher at the time used to play songs by Paul Robeson and used to tap you on the head with his baton which when it broke made him terribly upset I think A G Evans eventually moved to the Osses What were the house names

Another famous Old Boy is Lewis Collins.

My old school is still been used. Its name has changed over the years. Temple Road School, then was called Prenton Secondary and is now called Devonshire Park

Violet, I went to St Anselm's just post-war and the sports field was a rough area because they said it had been a gun site during the war. Any proof of that, anyone? It was OK for rugby and cross-country but not much else. Can you tell me where it was, I can't remember? We used to 'colaborate' with Upton Hall Convent! Is that still going? Bri
