This used to be the Shaftesbury Boys Club which had the part in Thomas St as the entrance for the Senior boys and the back part in Jackson St was the entrance for the Junior boys (before you became 11 years old)
I used to go to Atmosphere all the time when it was quite a good rock hangout, hated it when it changed into The ZUU or whatever it was, looked like it has skinned Mr Blobby for the seat covers, then years later i went to the gym upstairs there.. Its really interesting to see the old photos of it
I knew the people who ran it during Hex but i never went there, Most Haunted were thinking of filming there once, they sent scouts out to film a bit of it but nothing came of it... or so i'm told.
You might of liked it Tom, i miss Stairways... Old School Stairways that is, when the walls were yellow and they had that old prjector screen by the bar *sob*

I went to Stairways. Good memories. £10 in, free bar. Projector showing Scooby Doo! People picking you up when ya fell on ya arse cos the dance floor had a slight slope!
Ah yes!!! Those were the days eh! Those £10events always resulted in me chucking up over someones velvet jacket by the end of the night though *urgh!!* If you don't mind me asking Paul, how old are you and who did you used to go to S'ways with? I might even know you..
Edit: Just to add that Robbie the dj from there now has Stairways nights at the Seacombe Ferry pub, pulls in all the old crowds, i'm yet to go to one but i am curious!

nah, you won't know me! I was born Halloween in the year of our lord, 1968. I use to go with lots of peeps like Angie Sarson, Darren Dean, Cheryl (Chez) Bennett and the rest of the crew. Then we all got fed up of Stairways and popped over to the Krazyhouse. Occassionally I am found in the Swan on Wood Street, Liverpoooooool..
Aye, i prob don't know ya lol. I was born in '75 and started going to S'ways when i was 14 (jailbait !!) and swapped over the Kray too!!! Chez, would that be Chez Robetson (married name?).. i still go the Swan now (not every week though).
Strange that you mention a Chez Robertson! There seems to be a lot of e-mails flying about about some meet at Seacombe Ferry for her birthday last night (Friday 2nd)
That Chez has nothing to do with the Chez I know - apart from also getting an invite! No one I know..went.
