Matt, when ur all grown up and have children of your own you`ll understand. It`s not our (as mums) welfare we`re thinkin of it`s our kids. Cars skidin all over the place could mount a curb etc.People have died just walkin on ice and fallen and banged their head. You`ll realise that other people matter more than your own life. I`m a driver and wouldn`t dare put my kids in a car atm. Walkin on it`s own is scarey. I really realy want schools to open again as I have a partner on nights so keepin 3 kids quiet and happy all day is a task in itself. I have been out and broken as much of the ice as I can, Today I had to give it a rest coz my hands hurt so much.

Just because schools are re-opening, no one that matters would expect anyone to risk life and limb to get there, the safety of children is the most important thing to consider along with the safety of those who have to escort them to school. If anybody considers it to dangerous still, to navigate their way to schools etc, then its simple , you don't go until you consider it safe to do so. I have done a fair bit of walking and driving since the weather took a turn for the worst and on most pavements I've been on i definitly wouldn't like to be responsible for the safety of a few little ones. Its better for the children to lose a few days education now than to lose many weeks with broken limbs.
God help us, Come yourself, Don't send Jesus, This is no place for children.

everyone has their own opinions, some people just carry on dispite the snow others have a lay down a give up attitude, each to their own. But there are some people were i work who made the effort to get into work and then there were other people who lived in the same area who took 2 days off work because they said they couldnt get in.

If the schools were open I`d make the effort to get my kids to school as safely as possible. 1 has to go to Eastham, 1 has to go to a high school a bus journey away and little one has to walk up the road but it`s not the roads anymore, it is the pavements. I also live on a hill so come in the morning, kids returning to education will be down to common sense.
