Hi chris7777 We did have a shop in Liverpool. I used to go to C&A I loved it in there. I bought a couple of 2 piece suits; very classy they were too. I bought one for a friends Wedding and the other for work. I remember the shoe shops also and Tickles; oh happy days lol.
yeah it was a cool toyshop, but not as cool as peter toners, that was an alladins cave, used to love going in there, bought my first proper bike from there. And a "Stevensons Rocket" steam train kit, mums still got it ontop of her wardrobe
The co-op department store in Liscard where McDonalds is now. We used to go up and down in the lift until the security guard told us off! Above it was a large room that was used for parties and a club called Woodland Folk (I think0.I remember doing country dancing and singing folk songs. Happy Days!
I well remember the Co-op and the lift! Also the top floor (with the window that ran floor to ceiling); that was where Santa's grotto was for at least a couple of years.
Woodland Folk - wasn't in it myself but had a few friends who were (early 70s). Funny, was only thinking about that the other day!
