my son fractured his elbow 5 years ago. we took him to arrow park they x rayed it the nurse couldnt see it but the doctor picked it up it was very hard to see.anyway 18 months later his brother who is only a year older sat on him and his elbow went again.he got another x ray and you could see the original where the bone had grown over it.this time it was easier to see the break.when the nurse saw his arm she said it didnt look right, luckily hes ok now.
no1s gonna keep me from u

Broke my wrist as a teenager, went to APH had x-rays and was given the all clear and told I had damaged ligaments, seen a doctor who give me some exercises and told me to use the wrist to help it heal quickly which I did.
Anyway two weeks later whilst playing football in goal made a save and the pain was dreadful, went back to APH more x-rays and the nurse said "Did you know you had a break in your wrist" I said no and that I had ligament damage from two weeks earlier, they got my files out looked at old x-rays and the break was so clear and they could not understand how the doctor had missed it.
Can still remember his name but not sure whether I am allowed to say on here ?

In all honesty we would not want to make a single penny on this its just i really dont want this to happen to any one else. Wow what a breath of fresh air that is. Hats off to you. So many rush down the money route so quickly these days. We've been to Arrowe Park so many times I've lost count. Its luck of the draw. Some visits have been fantastic and some not so. It's the same on the wards. Mum and Dad got excellent care on 37 and 38. Ward 10 had a reputation with the hospital staff and we learnt why the hard way. We had our first baby there....We went to the Womens hospital for the others.

Can also back up what Brocks has said.
That is my only bad visit however after my wife had our 3rd and last baby there I would not have gone back had it been the 1st, the 1st and 2nd time they care was excellent however the last time it was dreadfull.

I had to make two serious complaints against two nurses on two separate wars at AP regarding dreadful treatment of my 80 yr. old mother. I went through the Pals procedure and was not satisfied with the answer I got back, so I wrote again and was telephoned by a MATRON (Yes they do have them) and invited to go and speak with her in person. She was a really kind, sympathetic person and due to this complaint she made a lot of changes in nurses procedure and I have to say I was eventually satisfied with the outcome. Advice....if you don't feel satisfied complain again and ask to personally speak to someone in a higher authority RobBB

around 1994 ish my husband had a fall and dislocated his shoulder went to the hospital had xrays they sed it was fine, he had to ask for a sling, to cut a long story short two years later it was still popping in and out of the socket sent for physio fell out the socket during physio referred to a specialist who got the original xrays turns out he had chipped the bone which can clearly be seen on the xray, the chip had fell between the ball and socket and wore it away he had to have a total shoulder replacement so now he has a plastic and metal shoulder he has had to have this replaced twice already and is due to have it done again later this year because it wasnt done properly last time.
