it was called seacombe junction because trains went to seacombe ,many years ago that picture is over 20years old tescos there now

I think it was Seacombe junction because the line branched. A bit like Llandudno Junction is not that near to Llandudno as people find when they get there.

The lines to the left in the pic. went to Seacombe. A little further along that line there was another junction, Slopes Branch, which led to the dock railway system.

As mentioned the line would branch off from the New Brighton Junction (after leaving the West Kirby junction) then swing round right and head to the station at Mill Lane then onto Seacombe.

Maybe slighty off topic 'ere but i dont think so. Anyone, remember the 'pit'? On Church Road opp. Netto, as it is now. Could that 'trench' have been where the original track was? I remember before they built the Kwik Save and car park (when the old printers building stood on the site ) there use to an old railway bridge barrier where the car park entrance is. That part of the road was a bridge.
