Good pics but i am sure thats new brighton and not seacombe nice to see all the same
Ignore the Victoria road bit. Borough road in Seacombe used to be called Victoria road too. Changed it to avoid confusion. It is Seacombe by the way. You can see the Irvine theatre on the right further up the road.

Yes, changed its name in 1918. Street sign still shows 'Victoria Road' under the modern name.
A.k.a the bingo! i am sure there is still a 'victoria rd' sign high up and above the 'bathroom shop' that used to be a thriving butchers. Corner of Church Road/ Borough Road.
Hubs nan died last year (rip) aged 83 years. She referred to this whole area as "The Village". By looking at old pics, i understand why, now? i believe the shops extended past the Five Bars and The Leasowe Pubs, spilling out onto Desmene St and Birkenhead Road.
