Did anyone else go to St Saviours C of E Primary School? It was next to the Arno in Oxton.I left in 1966,to go on to senior school. The Headmistress at St Saviours was Miss Foster. I remember Mr Chisholm, Miss Poulter and Mrs Davies. It was a lovely old Victorian building, it had big old doors with huge brass doorknobs and stone mullion windows. If I remember there were stone faces on the building, they may have been angels faces. We had to have our shool dinners in the church hall next door. that was the venue for our christmas concerts and school plays. The new school which replaced it was built at the top end of Holm Lane.I've always felt fortunate to have gone to the old school, it was a lovely old place.

Chisholm, Foster and Davies all taught me too but I dont remember Poulter, probably because I left in 1969 to go to secondary school. I do remember the old building and the parish hall but I also spent a couple of years in the new building after the old building was demolished.
