The only 2 internet pages i can access, are my home pages, wikiwirral, and fiat forum, if i type in google search bar and search it comes up internet explorer can not display this page, i click on diagnosis problem the result is DNS server is not responding

in the box type
CMD
A black screen will open and you can type the following.
ping google.co.uk
Your looking out for a result that does not say 100% loss

Have you tried rebooting the router and computer? To reboot the router, simply turn the power off to it for10 - 15 seconds and then restart. Sometimes it can take 2 attempts to flush the DNS. What is the ISP? They could be having DNS issues, so you could be worth givin them a ring to double check, before spending a couple of hours trying to fix it, only to find it was a network issue on their side.

Can you go to this address? This a different way of accessing www.google.com.http://209.85.143.99edit: And stop using IE. Switch to Firefox or Chrome (or hell, anything).

Well according to Sky's service status page, there is no issues at present; however there is reports on Sky User of people suffering various DNS issues. So could be a Sky problem, have you managed to speak to them yet, or are you still in a queue?

ues can access google from that link, no problem, but can not do any searches Deffo sounds like the DNS is screwed somewhere then; what router is it? You could possibly change the routers DNS servers to OpenDNS, if you know the model, we can advise how.
