I have just been looking at the prices of personalised registration plates. They are ridiculous but I have a cunning plan. I am changing my name by deed poll to DF45YTZ!!! That'll work, won't it!!

I once heard a story about a guy who named his shop and any other business he owned something like 'T146 8BU' - and outside his shop was a car with the registration of 'name' of the shop and his other business. . .i'm not sure if this is genius or stupid, however it made me smile!

go direct to the DVLA plates site cos their prices include vat and the transfer fee unlike the others like regplates etc
They have a pretty good selection and are very quick to sort things out.
I paid £250 for mine all in then just had to go to Chester DVLA office with the V5 and taxdisc (dont need insurance policy or MOT) and they give you a new tax disc and send your new V5 in the post, and you get a piece of paper to say you can have the plates made up ( but they are cheaper on the net)
