I was down Eastham Ferry today at high tide on the ebb and noticed an oil slick 4meters wide and hundreds of yards long coming from the direction of the Eastham oil terminal, looks like someone had washed out some tanks of some discription.Hope this sort of thing is not gonna start again or the river will be poisoned again as it was for so many years. The smell of oil in the river is something I thought would never return, hope it was an accident and not something more sinister,we have only recently started seeing some decent fish in the Mersey and spillages of this type are a disaster for our river.

No pics wish I had tho, there were about a dozen anglers fishing at the time, they cant have failed to see and smell the oil.Nice high tide on a grey horrible day and someone must av thought no one will notice and the tide will take it away.
