THOUGHTS

I thought it was a good idea
For poets on this show,
But alas, I got it wrong,
Where on earth did you all go?

Tilly with her lovely dogs
Could tell us how they play,
In words to show the love she shares;
A ‘Ballad of the Day’

Fireman Fil, he did so well
And made us laugh again;
A couple more could help us through
This dark unending pain.

Geekus, is a man of words,
I’m sure he’s got the knack,
To try a little nursery rhyme,
Or a ghostly limerick

I’m not sure of Transcentral
In his paranormal state;
He could maybe write of aliens
Whilst lost in time and space.

Bert Oh! Bert well he’s a one,
He has us fit to burst;
With teeth and gums and dry old chums,
Please try a little verse.

Edna! Have another go
With a ditty or a rhyme;
Have a drink of milk to start
And then just take your time.

Marty 99 or Fred
I really can’t decide
History could be a put to use
In an ‘Ode to Merseyside’

So Helles, Bez, Pintz and Rocks,
Gypsy June and Rude;
And those who’d like to have a go,
Please! stop eating all that food!

I can’t believe I’ve sent you this,
What a load of shite;
Signing off to one and all,

Hey Granny that`s fantastic did you make it up your self did father xmas help you or was it his little elf your very good at poems i`d like to be that brite but when i put pen to paper i write a load of shite so keep up the good work Granny for all of us to see ,i told you mine are shite good night lol

A poem by me to cheer up Granny....

THE DIET

I'm not ken on matzo
It makes me quite fat,so
I'm loathe even now to try it.
The problem with me
Isn't too hard to see
Yes, you've guessed it.
I've started a diet!!

I really love food
But it does me no good
Cos I'm so prone to putting on weight
I decided that I
Had to give a good try
To controlling my calorie intake!

To the doctor I went
Feeling really hell-bent
On discarding my spare lumps of fat
He took one look at me
And, in obvious glee
Said, "Ho,ho-ha,he,he, Oh, my hat!"

But it wasn't his fault
Everybody would gloat
When they saw me in my magnitude
It makes me really grim
I'm determined to slim
Til I'm able to pose in the nude!

Now I'm truly fed up
Cos I want to feed up
But I can't. til I get down to ten
When I've shed all my stones
And I'm all skin and bones
Then I'll start up all over again!!

Aw thats nice of you to cheer Granny up.

Thanks everyone. It's all good fun. Having read Gypsyjune's post first I did this. It's taken little time about 15mins, but I thought you might like to see. Copy and paste job from my wordpad......

Let me say I am not a poet, I just play with words until it sounds reasonable. E.g Think of a topic. ‘ Wikiwirral ‘ to start, think of a first line and then keep twisting the words around and swapping lines until it gels a bit. This is exactly how I have just done this one. Then see how it’s turned out at the end. Dead easy. You try.

The friends I have are many -
The many friends I have are scattered far and wide
I write and talk to them
Writing letters long phone calls keep us all in touch
But Wikiwirral’s on the spot
Prompt response with chatty
We chat about our families and shopping trips we’ve done
And like to think we manage to live our lives as one
But when it comes to history and stories by the score
Wikiwirral is the best what more could I ask for
Coming from our Wirral holds a sense of pride
Writing letters, long phone calls, we talk so very much
It’s something so important to keep us all in touch
And when we start we never stop and talk so very much
