Just drove home and was not surprised to see all the retards out with main/Full beam lights on aswell as the fog lights.
Light up all the fog infront of you why dont you, so all you see is a fog wall and blind us all in the process!!
Dipped headlights and foglights please, that way you see whats infront of you not just fog, and we can see you coming.

It amazes me how many people drive around with full beam on in the day. I ride a motorbike, and regularly get dazzled by full beams either in front or worse, behind, it's not like I can just move my mirrors out of the way, I hate it!! And the amount of people with a broken light so that one headlamp shines full beam. Arghhhhhhhhh

Some gobshites drive round with their foglights on even when its not foggy. Like they think they look good or it makes their car faster. They look like muppets, and if anything, it makes their car slower (technically).

I've noticed before it was foggy the amount of people who have there head light bulbs in the wrong way so instead of shining on the road there shining upwards the might as well drive with them off all the good they do other that blind people in there mirror, you can see they have the the wrong way more in the fog LoL, wounder how many have been to halfords and had a spotty boy installing them

The more power you are using, technically there is a little bit more work for the alternator, which is powered off the drive belt, powered off the cam etc... The energy has to come from somewhere, the root source is the engine - thus the engine has less energy available for actually driving the wheels. It's small enough to be insignificant, but that doesn't mean it's not happening. It's a technicality, but it has more truth to it than the idea that some of these nobs think having them on make their car faster. Lights on your bike will make no difference as they are independent of your pedaling (nobody uses a dynamo etc nowadays lol).

As I only passed my driving test in November last night was the first time i'd encountered fog. I sat in the car and before even starting it I phoned my nan who has been driving for 30+ years, to ask if it was foggy enough to have the fog light on, she told me yes but dont be an arse and put your full beam on with it. I chortled at hearing my 77 year old nan say the word arse.
I think I managed quite well but got blinded by at least 4 people with what can only be described as super full beam of hell. Im glad I wasnt one of the people blinding others =)

Yes, people driving round with full beams on in the fog should be shot. Same as people driving round with fog lights in the day. However, I drive round with my main beam on WHENEVER I DRIVE. Im not taking a risk of not being seen and having numptys crash into my car. It may be annoying, but least people will know Im there I dont have Day Lights nor do I have these newer ridiculously bright bulbs that dazzle you on any setting (Thankyou BMW, Audi etc) Dont like it? Swivel. I ended up fitting brighter bulbs to my bike, as it might give people a better chance of seeing me. Only lights that bother me (as mentioned) are the newer BMW/Audi cars.

Mis use of lights is a road traffic offence. but there are so few traffic cops around now that its a very common problem!

However, I drive round with my main beam on WHENEVER I DRIVE. I can see the point if you're a biker. Used to ride but gave up because it seemed that I was invisible to car drivers even with lights on. Early this morning, 1am ish, I was driving through the Wallasey Tunnel. One was closed so there was counterflow. Guy behind me has his lights on full beam, blinding me and the traffic coming in the opposite direction. Completely oblivious to the cars coming the other way flashing their lights to warn him, all the way through the tunnel and out. I suppose he too thought I and they could "swivel".

No.. I disagree fully with the "Full Beam" on at all times. Only to be used when there is no oncoming traffic etc Im talking about using "Main Beam". Sidelights dont cut the mustard But with modern cars, it doesnt matter if you use sidelights, main beam or full beams. The Bulbs are so powerful and bright anyway, theyre enough to dazzle anyone at any time of day.
